St. Elias Orthodox Church

Located in Musaffah, Abu Dhabi, the complex but beautiful structure includes the main Church hall as well as an accommodation block, libraries and canteens, while the whole is embellished by surrounding gardens.  Car parking facilities are also provided within the compound.

Challenge in focus: The construction of the imposing 10 m diameter concrete dome at a height of 23 m required specialized know-how.  From visits made to Church construction projects in Lebanon, we managed to gather ideas that were efficient and very useful to achieve the task.
